The Tolomato Boardwalk at Palencia

The Tolomato River Boardwalk at Palencia opened on May 15, 2006. Construction of the boardwalk began in March of 2006. It is approximately 1/2 mile to the picnic areas and 7/10 of a mile to the fishing pier. At the entrance of the boardwalk, there is a kiosk displaying a map and guidelines. Along the boardwalk you will find additional information about various plants and animals native to the area. There are four designated picnic areas with tables and benches at various points along the boardwalk where people can stop and observe this beautiful, natural environment. Hours of operation are from dawn to dusk.
