New Recycling Bins

Dear Palencia Resident,

Seaboard Waste Systems (St. Johns County’s Solid Waste Department’s contractor for recycle and solid waste removal), began dropping off 95-gallon recycle receptacles to Palencia addresses the morning of Monday June 1st.  Inside each new receptacle is a paper copy of the brochure inside a water-resistant baggy. Click here for brochure.

We have confirmed with Republic Services that the new 95-gallon containers will go into use the week of July 6th (Palencia pick-up schedule for recycle is Wednesday, thus July 8th will be the first pick-up day).  Please continue to use the smaller 18-gallon bins until the start date of July 7th for Palencia residents.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact Republic Services directly at the phone number on the brochure (904-825-0991).

*NOTE:  We don’t believe Avila, Promenade Condominiums, or Village Square residential owners will be provided with the new receptacle, as those units have other means of recycle and garbage collection.

Storing Your New 95-gallon Recycling Carts

Palencia residents have received the new 95-gallon recycling carts as part of a change in St. Johns County’s recycling program. The week of July 6th, the carts will replace the smaller 18-gallon bins currently in use. The design of the new 95-gallon carts have the same footprint dimension as the 18-gallon bins to fit in the same garage floor space.

** Please note, the recycling cart will need to be stored out of sight. As a reminder, trash receptacles need to be stored out of sight in Palencia as well. Please take a few moments this weekend to make proper arrangements to hide the carts, and if necessary, trash receptacles, from view inside garages or around the side of your home **

Republic Services, the County’s solid waste and recycling contractor for Palencia, request customers use their current 18-gallon bins to recycle until the week of July 6. During the week of July 6th is when the transition to the new 95-gallon carts will take place and when you should also set out your 18-gallon bins to be picked up.

If you have any questions or concerns please contact Republic Services directly at the phone number on the brochure (904-825-0991).

Thank you for helping make Palencia a more beautiful place to live!
